Preventing Hemorrhoid Surgery
The last resort for any hemorrhoid sufferers is to have a surgery. This is the worst way to get rid hemorrhoids as they are obviously the most painful. One person would not want himself to reach into a situation where he would need surgery to remove hemorrhoids.
There are five types of Hemorrhoid surgery and 3 of the 5 are used for external hemorrhoids. (Hemorrhoidectomy, laser coagulation or infrared photocoagulation). The two used for internal surgery are injection sclerotheraphy and rubber band ligation.
Let’s take a closer look at the following surgical procedures so that one may be able to know what kind of surgery may well suit his situation:
• Hemorrhoidectomy – removes the hemorrhoid by surgery
•
Laser coagulation – uses electric currents that is probed to the hemorrhoid.
The swollen tissue shrinks due to a chemical reaction that is able to stop
the blood flow in the hemorrhoid.
•
Infrared photocoagulation – an infrared light is used on the dilated
vein to cause the hemorrhoid to shrink.
•
Injection sclerotheraphy – to be able to close the vein and shrinkage,
certain chemicals are injected are injected in the mucus membrane of the
affected area.
•
Rubber band ligation – to be able to cause the blood flow to stop and
cause shrinkage, a rubber band is put on the base of the hemorrhoid until
it falls off.
Sophisticated laser technology is now being employed to minimize the pain on hemorrhoid surgery. Because the beam is so tiny the surgeon becomes more precise and accurate in removing the hemorrhoids. There two benefits of having the hemorrhoid removed via laser technology. The surgery will case very little bleeding because it is able to be cauterized immediately and the healing period is also faster.
The best way to avoid surgery is for one to take care of oneself better. Be able to have better bathroom habits, better diet and exercise more.
The best diet for one person to have to prevent hemorrhoids is eating foods with lots of fibers such as bran, vegetables and fruits. It may be hard for the digestive system to get use to a sudden shift, so slowly add these foods to your diet. As in the case of bran, it may cause a person to gas up a lot in the first couple of weeks.
Better bathroom habits basically constitute one person to become cleaner. Try to clean your anus better after going to the bathroom, try installing a bidet. A bidet is a small gadget that is put in the toilet bowl that releases water to help clean the anus. Try not to irritate the anus as well by getting it rubbed with too much tissue paper.
If a person is constipated this may cause hemorrhoids as well. So don’t force the feces out, instead wait for the right time. Don’t also constrain your anus by staying more than the average time of 2-5 minutes in the toilet bowl.
The last way to prevent hemorrhoids is by exercising more. Try to stand up once in a while. Popular belief is that when one sits down a lot of time, the vertical organs and the intestine is pushed down to the anus.
Maybe it won’t hurt to practice a few of these prevention methods
before one gets the worst situation of having to get surgery.
