Hemroids: Major Causes

Hemroids are a prevalent condition that affects many people from all walks of life. Statistically, 1 in 10 people suffer from Hemroids.
Most of the causes are part of our daily activities or constitute necessary events in our lives:

• Constant sitting: we have to sit when we drive to work, when we work, when we eat, when we relax. Sitting is one activity we can’t do without in the course of our day. To avoid sitting for a prolonged period, you can walk around for 5 minutes after an hour of sitting. Try to get circulation going whenever you feel sleepy or tired by walking around for a few minutes.

• Straining with bowel movements: while the common suggestion in avoiding Hemroids is to not strain too much while passing stool, a medical information website suggests not reading while moving your bowels. Try to find the balance that does make you neither strain too much nor spend too much time sitting on the toilet.

• Diarrhea: you can barely hold it in, what else is there that you’re doing that can cause Hemroids? Apparently some people still strain while moving their already very loose bowels. Get the required medication and drink plenty of liquids to replenish your body’s supply. This will hopefully help you recover faster from the Diarrhea and get you away from spending too much time sitting on the toilet.

• Sitting on the toilet for a long time: you shouldn’t strain while moving your bowels, but you shouldn’t sit on the toilet for too long either. Relax, but don’t relax too much and fall asleep. Don’t bring reading materials neither, because as we mentioned, you want to do your business and get out of the toilet as soon as possible.

• Severe coughing: get cough medication as soon as possible because when you cough your stomach muscles contract and your sphincter muscles strain (as your lungs try to expel the irritant). Get rid of the cough right away so you won’t have to deal with Hemroids later.

• Childbirth: when a woman pushes her baby out, everything else is straining topush out in that general region. This cannot be avoided unless you go for a C-section. If you do get Hemroids from giving birth, consult your doctor.

• Heavy lifting: a medical information website suggests breathing out while lifting. Poor lifting procedures will not only hurt your back and butt; it can also cause injury or strain.
