Hemroids Treatment Diet
All physicians world wide believe that the single most contributing factor to healthy bodies is the diet. A unhealthy diet will lead to a multitude of problems ranging from ulcers to high cholesterol to hemroids.
Maintaining a healthy diet will greatly reduce all body maladies and increase the immune system helping the body to heal itself. This is doubly true for any case of hemroids.
Whether you already have hemroids or you are actively trying to prevent it, there is a right hemroids diet that you can and should follow everyday. A hemroids diet basically means that you should avoid certain foods that can cause indigestion, gas and diarrhea.
Obviously fiber is the most important part of a hemroids diet. If you are currently suffering from hemroids you should take bulk fiber supplements daily in addition to any other dietary changes. A fiber supplement can help with your current hemroids (both internal and external hemroids) conditions as well as preventing hemroids reappearance once healed. Realize that bulk fiber may take a few days to work but the change will be noticeable.
Apart from fiber supplements include more natural foods in your diet such as bran, whole-grain breads, cereal, fruits and leafy vegetables as opposed to processed foods. Processed foods will increase the strain on the toilet and increase the chances of hemroids. Natural foods are a very healthy way to include the much needed fiber into your system helping reduce hemroids.
You should choose at least 6 or more of the following each day:
. One bowl of breakfast cereal or
. One slice of bread or
. Three dessert spoons of cooked pasta or rice or
. One medium potato - either boiled or baked, not fried
Note:
If your physical activity is high, up to 12 servings may be necessary
Along with that you should also choose at least 4 or more of the following each day
. One glass of fruit juice or
. Three dessert spoons of cooked vegetables or salad or
. One small bowl of homemade vegetable soup or
. One medium sized fresh fruit or
. Three dessert spoons cooked fruit or tinned fruit (preferably in its own juice)
Also along with fiber supplements and more natural foods, you should drink more water as well to soften your stool and to avoid straining. Aside from the water reducing straining by passing softer stool, it also helps ease irritation and pain on existing hemroids. Eight glasses of water a day is the ideal and recommended number for both a hemorrhoid diet and general healthy lifestyle.
To help prevent hemroids it is also best to avoid processed food such as fast food and many canned and frozen ready-to-eat meals in your diet. The reason for this is because refined or processed foods have very small amounts of fiber content. Fast food and the like do not contain nearly enough roughage for the intestine to pass stool easily. This will cause strain in the rectum during bowel movement thus worsening existing hemroids or actually causing them in the first place.
