This recipe is very simple to prepare and will make 2 to 4 servings which an ideal dish for singles or a couple. If you wish to serve larger families all you have to do is double the recipe.

One Dish Meal

Lean ground beef 1/3 lb.

Canned or fresh tomatoes diced 1/2 cup

Rice (uncooked) 1/4 cup

Water 1/3 cup

Pepper to taste

Cooked split peas or frozen thawed green peas 1 cup

Put ground beef in a pan and cook over medium heat until browned. Drain off fat. Add tomatoes, rice, water and pepper. Cover and boil gently about 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Add split peas. Heat dish moderately until hot. This will make two servings.
