Different Types of Hemorrhoids
Just what are HEMORRHOIDS?
While no one really knows for sure what causes hemorrhoids, the general types are pretty well established and identifiable by their source and severity.
A hemorrhoid is simply a swollen vein around the anus which is believed to be usually caused by an increased pressure, such as straining when constipated during bowel movements or during pregnancy. If blood clots happen to form in external hemorrhoids, they can become thrombosed. External Thrombosed hemorrhoids are a painful condition with an alarming appearance, often times turning purple and blue. This pain can be quite unbearable.

To identify what symptoms and best treatment for your particular case of hemorhoids you will need to specify the type of hemorrhoids you are suffering from. There are in fact several different types of hemroids:
Internal Hemoroids
Internal hemorrhoids often times don't hurt or itch as the nerves inside the anal canal are not the same as external as they feel pressure and not pain. The reason you can not feel them is because they are deep inside the anal canal. Internal hemorhoids generally are pretty harmless. However since their bleeding could possibly mask blood from a dangerous source like colorectal cancer, they should be examined and treated.
External Hemoroids
External hemorrhoids are the cause of most of the symptoms we commonly hear about. Some of these symptoms are pain, burning, irritation, and itching. External hemorrhoids sometimes become strangulated and a clot can form in it which can become an unbearably painful thrombosed hemorrhoid. Strangulation is a cutting off of the blood supply and because of these unpleasant symptoms; external hemorhoids get the most treatment attention.
Bleeding Hemorrhoids
Bleeding hemorrhoids, as named, are also associated with rectal bleeding. Basically it is a hemorrhoid lump that has ruptured or split open causing blood to flow out from the lesion. If you have hemorrhoids by itself they are not too serious. However if you are suffering from bleeding hemorrhoids then you need to seek treatment as soon as possible as they can mask further problems.
External Thrombrosed Hemorrhoids
One of the worst kind are the External Thrombosed hemorrhoids, they are basically external hemorrhoids but much worse. External hemorrhoids may become thrombosed when blood clots develop inside the lump itself. This can make the lump extremely sensitive from irritation caused by any activity, even walking or sitting. Large blood clots can be very painful during bowel movement and other activity.
